I'm very excited to announce that my work has been chosen out of the thousands of national submissions for the Philip Morris Black Book photo contest. I will be going to L.A. to continue on to the 2nd stage of the contest, where 4 out of the 8 of us will be chosen as grand prize winners on March 11th.
Also thank you to Lotus Feed for asking permission to use my photo for their digital CD cover.

Tomorrow morning I am moving from Seattle to live in one of the most crime infested cities in the southwest and America. I will be away from deviant art for about two weeks. Can't wait to get some amazing photos to share with you all.
Brilliant writing/Kay Sundstrom
A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to come across a writer of exceptional talent here on dA. If you're like me, you get very excited and want to share with the world when something is too amazing to keep to yourself. It's not very often I can find a writer or a story I can relate to, or want to even read for that matter. But I can't stop reading Kay's writing. I'm addicted. Please have a read:

HDR?
I have been contemplating working with an HDR program for a couple of years now. I've really been undecided about HDR images as they can look very unnatural and cartoonish and easily overdone. Even though I work with a lot of textures and love abstract, there's something about an HDR image that is too 'real' it becomes unreal. The colors for my standards are generally too outrageous and obnoxious, which can be controlled in the tone mapping, of course. If anyone has an opinion or have any tips regarding creating a believable HDR image, do share. I would love to hear what you all have to say.

Interesting collection. Thank you for sharing. From clever to thought provoking......all great quotes. I might like to spar with the second photographer quote over theirs ( playfully )......but I myself cannot imagine a world without photography........though most of human history occured without it ( unfortunately).
